Our GDPR Compliance
Our GDPR Compliance
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force on 25 May 2018. It is a piece of legislation that is designed to give you more control over your personal information such as name, date of birth, address, email address among other pieces of sensitive data that you share with us and other businesses.
Effectively, it should allow you to fully understand why we ask for certain information, how we use it and who we pass it onto (if applicable). For example, we understandably have to pass on your tax details to HMRC when helping you to file your self-assessment tax return.
As part of our work towards ensuring we are GDPR-compliant, we are making sure that everyone we communicate with for purposes other than carrying out our agreed tax and accountancy services, is aware of how we received their contact information, why we are contacting them and that they have given us express permission to do so. This specifically applies to our email newsletter.
For anyone who is receiving or would like to receive our email newsletter, you should know that they include company updates and information, news articles and stories, promotions and giveaways. Our monthly prize giveaways are our way of saying thank you to those who read our newsletter. For all current subscribers, please note that we will be going through the process of obtaining your express permission so do keep your eyes out for our emails coming soon.
For more information on GDPR you can watch the short video below, or if you have any questions call us on 01865 24 55 11.
Our new privacy policy will also be coming soon. We’ll keep you updated once these are available.
